Old Sacramento
Welcome to Old Sacramento, the historic district that allows guests to eat, shop, play, and learn all in one spot. This entire district takes up 28 acres, the expansive spot also referred to as ‘Old Town’. Within Old Sacramento, you can take a riverboat ride or railroad trek, or perhaps opt in for a horse-drawn carriage ride or bike journey along the river bank. There are fun underground tours, plus, of course, plenty of historic education opportunities along the way that will give you insight into the city's beginnings and life within Sacramento during the Gold Rush era.
More than just a local historic hotspot, Old Sacramento is also considered to be a global tourist destination, a gorgeous waterfront location with plenty of cafes, delis, bars, restaurants, pubs, and sweet shops. The shopping is top notch here as well! Head to the Visitor’s Center, an affiliate of the Sacramento History Museum, and learn more in-depth information about the fires, floods, railroad development, and city advancement that have made Sacramento what it is today.
Before you leave the area try to make it to the Old Sacramento Trading Post, a fun and historic shopping spot!
