Welcome to the NSU Museum of Art, the 83,000 square foot art museum that is considered to be the 'hub of the South Florida Art Coast'. It was first founded in 1958 and has since then become the 'premier destination for exhibitions and programs encompassing all facets of civilizations' visual history'.
Located on Las Olas Boulevard, just steps away from the riverwalk waterfront promenade, this museum holds an impressive permanent collection of over 6,000 works. The entire collection provides 'exceptional access to the highest level of artistic expression'. The permanent collection features 19th and early 20th century paintings and drawings by realist William Glacoons, the most extensive collection of US works by post-WWII, avant-garde CoBrA artists, and a large holding of Latin American artists.
There are regular art classes and lectures here, as well as an onsite Museum Store and Cafe. The museum is part of the Nova Southeast University, giving easy access to the campus as well.
*NOTE this museum is closed on Mondays and is free to children under 12
